Thomas Vermaelen has introduced retirement from worldwide soccer and is poised to be named because the assistant coach of the Belgium nationwide workforce.
Vermaelen signed a two-year contract with J1 League facet Vissel Kobe in 2019 after leaving Spanish giants Barcelona. The 36-year-old grew to become a free agent in December after his contract with Kobe expired in December.
As reported by Belgian news-site HLN, the previous Arsenal man is about to turn out to be the assistant coach to Roberto Martinez.
“Vermaelen is the right man in Martinez’s eyes. Much more so as a result of he is aware of this group like no different,” the report claimed.
Thomas Vermaelen will change Scot Shaun Maloney who left his function to turn out to be Hibernian supervisor.
Throughout his time with Kobe, Vermaelen helped the J1 League facet to win the Emperor’s Cup, their first home trophy.
